《Slow Food in Asia's Fast Cities》is a project combining 50 plus detailed recipes and original music inspired by food. Two years of hardwork by singer-songwriter Chet Lam and new team Leif Creative, 《Slow Food in Asia's Fast Cities》is Lam's first cookbook, is only available through here.

Chet has been a veteran in music and travelling. In this bilingual cookbook (English and Chinese), Chet and his team Leif Creative are sharing with people recipes he learnt from some exciting yet culturally rich Asian cities like Bangkok, Chiangmai, Penang, Hanoi, Singapore etc., and how to make a difference by taking charge of what we eat everyday.

The concept of 'from market to table' was inspired by slow food movement, in the book Chet is taking you to fresh markets in South East Asia, showing you how good food can be made in your own kitchen, and most importantly, he will show you that a better life is only a kitchen away.

兩年前開始,我在廚房的時間比旅行還多,開始構思一個案子:一個結合旅行與煮食的旅程;經過兩年的籌備,《Slow Food in Asia's Fast Cities》就是一個結合旅遊與食物的project。慢煮其實不是指時間上的慢,而是採用新鮮的地道優質食材,無添加的做菜,對快餐說不。


旅遊
這個想法已經存在一陣子,現在終於籌備得七七八八;在兩年來走訪的五個東南亞國家裏,我開始做了一件三十多年來沒有做過的事:去當地市場拍照、嚐味。在吃喝玩樂之外,我決定尋找更多-怎樣把味道帶回香港,而最好的辦法,就是學做菜。
我絕對不是廚師,但我喜歡研究,而《Slow Food in Asia's Fast Cities》裏的食譜,就是我兩年來從不同地方帶回來,加上我自己的改良,成為這些跟大家分享的小小故事,小小心得。

食物
近年歐洲開始盛行‘ 慢食’;慢食,就是快餐的相反:盡量在新鮮市場買新鮮的菜,知道所有你放進口裏的東西,來自什麼地方,有什麼價值。我希望把《Slow Food in Asia's Fast Cities》成真,跟大家分享這個尋味之旅。
